How to Complete an Inspection

This guide walks technicians through the complete inspection process, from viewing assignments to uploading final reports.

Before You Begin

Required Equipment:

  • ✅ NFPA 99 certified testing equipment
  • ✅ Camera or smartphone for photos
  • ✅ Inspection checklist (digital or printed)
  • ✅ Access to MedCompliance platform (mobile or desktop)
  • Confirm Assignment:

    1. Log in to your dashboard

    2. Navigate to "My Assignments"

    3. Verify inspection details:

    - Facility name and address

    - Scheduled date/time

    - Inspection type (annual, quarterly, emergency)

    - Special requirements or notes

    Step-by-Step Inspection Process

    Step 1: Check In to Inspection

    On Desktop:

    1. Go to Dashboard → Assignments

    2. Find today's inspection

    3. Click "Start Inspection"

    4. System marks inspection as "In Progress"

    On Mobile:

    1. Open dashboard

    2. Tap assigned inspection

    3. Tap "Check In"

    4. Allow location access (verifies on-site)

    Step 2: Conduct NFPA 99 Inspection

    Follow your standard checklist:

    Medical Gas Systems:

  • Pressure readings within spec
  • Leak detection performed
  • Alarm systems tested
  • Emergency shutoff accessible
  • Pipe labeling verified
  • Emergency Power:

  • Generator load test
  • Transfer switch operation
  • Battery backup verified
  • Fuel level checked
  • Documentation:

  • Take photos of equipment
  • Note any deficiencies

    Step 5: Upload Final Report

    Upload Process:

    1. Navigate to inspection details

    2. Click "Upload Report"

    3. Select file (PDF, DOCX, or images)

    4. Add optional notes

    5. Click "Upload"

    File Requirements:

  • Max size: 10MB
  • Formats: PDF, DOCX, PNG, JPG
  • File naming: Include facility and date
  • Best Practices:

  • ✅ Use descriptive filenames: "Hospital_ABC_Annual_2025-01-15.pdf"
  • ✅ Combine multiple photos into one PDF
  • ✅ Include equipment serial numbers
  • ✅ Date all photos
  • Step 6: Mark Inspection Complete

    1. Review all uploaded documents

    2. Verify all checklist items completed

    3. Click "Mark as Complete"

    4. Add final technician notes (optional)

    5. Submit
